BrightPath Caribbean has guided 500+ high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and retirees through successful relocation and tax optimization in the Dutch Caribbean since 2013.
BrightPath Caribbean was founded in 2013 in Sint Maarten by a team of international tax professionals who had watched the same pattern repeat itself too many times: high-net-worth individuals arriving on the island full of promise, with no real roadmap. They were paying far more tax than the law required, making costly structural mistakes, and navigating complex Dutch Caribbean regulations without qualified guidance.
The island had excellent local accountants, but there was a clear gap between what the local market offered and what internationally mobile, high-income clients actually needed. BrightPath was built to fill that gap — a firm with both feet planted in Sint Maarten and full command of international tax law, US expat compliance, Dutch Caribbean regulations, and cross-border structuring.
We grew steadily, client by client, through results. Today, BrightPath Caribbean's CaribTax division is the island's most recognized tax advisory practice for international residents and serious prospective relocators. We operate here. We live here. We are not a remote advisory service pointing at Sint Maarten from a mainland office — this is our home, and we have deep relationships with the institutions, legal professionals, and government bodies that matter for your transition.
The launch of the CaribTax digital platform in 2026 reflects our commitment to making Sint Maarten's tax advantages accessible, transparent, and well-explained — before you ever pick up the phone.
We are not a software platform. We are not an algorithm. We are senior tax strategists who think through your specific situation — your income composition, your citizenship, your family structure, your business interests — and build a plan accordingly.
No two Penshonado files are identical. A US tech executive with RSUs, a Canadian real estate investor, a UK pension holder, and a German business owner each require meaningfully different approaches. That's exactly the kind of nuance we handle.
We live and work here. Our offices are on the island. Our relationships with the Sint Maarten Tax Service, the Chamber of Commerce, local notaries, and the legal community have been built over a decade of daily practice.
When something unusual arises — an edge case, a tax authority question, a new interpretation — we are in the room. We don't advise on Sint Maarten from a distance. That proximity is not incidental; it is central to the quality of what we deliver.
Most of our clients work with us for years — not just for their initial Penshonado application. Tax residency requires annual maintenance, and your financial picture will evolve. New income sources. Real estate acquisitions. Corporate changes. Family transitions.
We don't disappear after your application is filed. We offer annual compliance packages designed to keep your status clean, your filings timely, and your structure optimized as your life on the island develops.
